1. Introduction

Void LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates TrueScan: PDF Scanner & OCR (the "App").

This Privacy Policy explains how TrueScan handles information when you use the App, including how photographs, documents, OCR content, and locally stored files are accessed and processed.

2. Information We Access

TrueScan may access information from your device only when necessary to provide a feature that you choose to use.

Photos and Images

When you select an image or photograph for scanning, OCR, conversion, editing, or PDF creation, TrueScan accesses the selected file for that specific purpose.

Selected images are not uploaded to Void LLC servers.

PDF and Document Files

When you select a PDF or supported document, TrueScan accesses the selected file to perform functions such as PDF conversion, compression, image extraction, or other requested processing.

These files are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to Void LLC servers.

OCR Content

When you use the OCR feature, TrueScan processes the selected image or document to recognize text.

OCR processing provided by the application's OCR components is performed locally on the device. We do not receive or store your recognized text on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Files

Your selected images and documents are used only to provide the functionality you request.

Depending on the feature you use, this may include:

• Scanning documents.
• Recognizing text using OCR.
• Converting images to PDF files.
• Converting PDF pages to images.
• Compressing PDF files.
• Saving processed files.
• Displaying recent activity and previously created files.
• Allowing you to share files using Android's sharing functionality.

We do not use your documents, photographs, or OCR content for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.

4. Local Storage

TrueScan stores files and application-related information locally on your Android device when necessary to provide features such as recent activity and file history.

Some application files may be stored in the application's private or app-specific storage directory.

Files created or saved by you may also be saved to locations selected or permitted by Android's file and media framework.

You can delete items from the App's recent activity section where the corresponding deletion functionality is provided.

5. Permissions

TrueScan requests only the permissions necessary for its functionality.

Internet Access

TrueScan uses the Android Internet permission for functionality and communication required by included Android and Google services and SDK components.

TrueScan does not use the Internet permission to upload your selected photographs, PDF files, scanned documents, or OCR results to Void LLC servers.

Storage Access

On supported Android versions, TrueScan uses Android's system file and media selection mechanisms to allow you to select photographs and PDF files.

On Android versions where legacy external storage access is applicable, the App may request the corresponding storage permission for saving files.

6. Third-Party Services and SDKs

TrueScan uses certain third-party Android libraries and services to provide its functionality. These components may process limited technical information according to their own privacy practices.

Google Play Services / Google APIs

TrueScan uses Google Play services and Google's Android components, including the Google ML Kit document scanner. These services may process technical information necessary for their operation, diagnostics, updates, and performance.

Google ML Kit

TrueScan uses Google ML Kit for document scanning functionality. ML Kit processes the input data used by its APIs on the device and does not send the input data and resulting outputs to Google's servers for ML Kit API processing.

Google states that ML Kit may communicate with Google servers for purposes such as receiving bug fixes, updated models, and hardware compatibility information. ML Kit may also send metrics concerning API performance and utilization.

Tesseract OCR / Tesseract4Android

TrueScan uses Tesseract4Android for OCR functionality. Tesseract-based OCR processing is performed locally within the application.

Tesseract4Android is an open-source Android wrapper for Tesseract OCR and related libraries.

7. Information We Do Not Collect

TrueScan does not require you to create an account and we do not intentionally collect the following information through our own servers:

• Your name.
• Your email address.
• Your phone number.
• Your account credentials.
• Your contacts.
• Your precise location.
• Your photographs or scanned documents.
• Your PDF files.
• Your OCR text or OCR results.

TrueScan also does not operate its own advertising service and does not display advertisements in the App.

This section describes data collection by Void LLC. Certain third-party SDKs included in the App may independently process limited technical or diagnostic information as described in their respective privacy documentation.

8. Data Sharing

Void LLC does not sell, rent, or otherwise share your photographs, PDF files, scanned documents, or OCR content with third parties.

When you choose to share a file using Android's sharing functionality, the file is transferred to the application or service that you select. This transfer is initiated by you, and the receiving service's own privacy policy applies to its subsequent handling of the file.

Third-party SDKs may transmit limited technical or diagnostic information as described in their respective documentation.

9. Data Security

TrueScan is designed to process your documents and images locally whenever possible. Files stored in the application's private or app-specific storage are protected by Android's application storage security model.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and for managing files that you export or share outside the application.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Void LLC does not maintain a cloud database containing your scanned documents, photographs, PDFs, or OCR results.

Files generated by TrueScan may remain on your device until you delete them, remove them through the App's available deletion controls, or remove the application and its application data.

The App provides deletion controls through the recent activity section for applicable locally stored items.

Because TrueScan does not provide user accounts or maintain cloud storage for your files, there is no server-side account deletion process required for these files.

11. Children's Privacy

TrueScan is not specifically designed or directed toward children under the age of 13.

The application is intended for users aged 18 and above as configured for its Google Play distribution.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own servers.

12. Your Choices and Controls

You control which photographs and documents you provide to TrueScan. You may choose not to select a file or use a feature that requires access to that file.

You can also manage Android permissions through your device's system settings.

You may delete locally stored files using the App's available deletion functionality or through Android's file management tools.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to TrueScan, applicable laws, or our data practices.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date shown at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
